THE LITTLEST ONE: Bedroom Makeover Revealed

This has to be my favorite room makeover of all time!  OF ALL TIME.  When I walk into the Littlest One’s new room I think “Wow, this is really pretty, I want to hang out in here.”  Tween years here we come, although you will see some little girl still left.  Which honestly, makes me a happy mommy.

Here you go! The only thing that’s not in the pictures is the dresser with bookshelves which is against the opposite wall.  (It needs a paint job.)

My favorite part?  The light up curtains.  (No, I didn’t make them.  UPDATE: Unfortunately the company that I bought them from no longer sells them.)

The little file cabinet – That’s a project for another post. (trust me)  The desk was a HomeGoods find – and YES it folds up into itself.  The small faux animal fur rug was her find.

She picked out the bedding herself.  It’s a combination of items from a variety of places.

I added little touches such as putting different handles on the closets.

The bed and lamp are IKEA.  The bed has drawers underneath.  The coolest part?  This IKEA daybed can either be twin OR pulled out to full.  Right now, she’s somewhere in the middle with a full sized futon mattress.  Talk about flexibility!

I created some art for over the bed by taking portraits of her favorite snuggly critters.  I put them in dollar store frames that I spray painted and sanded to add a shabby chic look.

I think she’s one of the luckiest girls ever – but I guess I might be biased.  😉

  1. p.s. The portraits of the guysies was such a clever touch and can easily be turned into a little book someday way in the future. Love it.

  2. Just magical and I know she likes it because she talked about it at dinner the other night. Getting her involved was great for her. Getting it put together was mostly good ‘on’ you. Yay new room at a changing time.
