SHOVELING VS. PAINTING: The Master Bedroom Color Reveal

I can’t shovel any more you guys.  It hurts all over.  We’re up to our ears in snow and I have nowhere else to put it.  It’s depressing AND exhausting.  Here’s a picture to give you an idea of why I haven’t been blogging:

Winter Snow

Yes, that’s a CAR behind the wall of snow.  Ridiculous huh?  I haven’t been painting either.  Painting and shoveling require the same body parts.  (Like my wrist and elbow.  Oh wait, blogging requires them too!)  As a result, it has been SLOW GOING in the master.  I figured you all should know that I haven’t abandoned the project or been sucked into a polar vortex.  (although I feel like the second)

I owe you an update so it is time to reveal the color palette.  As a reminder this is where I started:

But then, I found the pillow.  It was a beautiful combination of the colors I love with the look I am shooting for.  Here’s a sneak peek:

The plan is to use the taupe and grey on the walls and bedding.  Then I plan to have accent pieces (like these pillows) with the “orangey corally” color.  I actually don’t know what the name of this color is but I know I love it.

What do you think?  I can’t wait to hear from everyone who gave feedback, and I promise to share more information as I keep plugging away!

PS:  Happy Valentine’s Day a day late!  Thanks to Love to be in the Kitchen for inspiring me to make heart shaped pancakes.  I didn’t do too bad huh?pancake

  3. I love it! Great way to incorporate all of the colours you liked without committing to such a big change…plus you can swap out the accent colours with others that work if you fancy a change 😉
